Senior Product Designer
Genesis Energy
Genesis is New Zealand’s largest energy wholesaler and retailer. Here I helped establish a newly formed cross-functional and multicultural UX chapter — providing solutions and maintaining a vast range of digital products. I've spearheaded a new design approach and crafted products and features that have a tangible impact on our customers and staff.
KEY ACHIEVEMENTS
UX/UI lead for the digital rebrand and website built on a completely new tech stack. Our initial business objective was a simple paint job, but after some persuasive data on site stability, card sorting results and recognising the nightmares faced by our content team, we had the opportunity for a complete makeover! Leveraging the capabilities of our new state-of-the-art capabilities, I was empowered to craft highly dynamic components and page templates, enabling our teams to build fast, and focus on quality content.
‘EVerywhere' is one of the many features I designed/redesigned in the app. It allows customers to use their EV plan rates at thousands of charging stations around New Zealand, saving them up to 70% on their out-of-home charges. This value proposition and easy user journey has significantly contributed to far surpassing monthly targets for EV plan sign-ups and customer sentiment for this feature is way up.
Online join, my inaugural project with Genesis, employs our new design approach for the always evolving energy market and highlights the importance of scalable design. Over time we have seamlessly integrated significant features, including the EV plan, SME join (New Zealand’s first), and the transition from a prompt payment discount to stackable discounts. Talking with our customer care teams to make sure we’re asking the right things of our customers has resulted in a decrease in the drop-off rate, contributing to an increase in sign-ups.

Digital designer & frontend
Boost
Boost is a digital design and agile training agency. My first role in the industry involved both design and frontend within a very autonomous agile environment. Here I gained invaluable agile experience during its early adoption into the tech industry. Having a deep knowledge of front-end development has helped me to design with empathy and understand what’s possible.
